Deposit, correction, locations and care.
The practical details clients ask before booking — no fluff, no invented prices.

How holding a spot works
Avelen uses its own booking flow — not a marketplace queue. A $100 deposit holds the visit and is credited to the service. Public checkout is Stripe. Square is not offered on the public booking path.
FAQ
What does the $100 deposit cover?
It holds your request and is credited to your service (full install or correction) once the studio confirms. It is not an extra fee on top of the quoted work.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Open bookings can be moved or cancelled in My cabinet (or message WhatsApp with your booking id). 1st reschedule is free. 2nd/3rd with 1–2 days notice. 4th+ carries a $50 fee. Cancel ≥48 hours before and your deposit stays as account credit toward a future Avelen service.
Full install vs 3–4 month maintenance — which do I book?
Choose Full install for a new set. Choose 3–4 month maintenance when you already wear Avelen hair and are due for a move-up. Same $100 deposit — credited to your service. Maintenance is $650–$800 depending on length and volume after a quick photo review.
Do I need a photo consultation first?
Recommended if you are new. Send 2–4 daylight photos via the free consultation — we reply on WhatsApp with method, length, density, and an honest range before you pay a deposit. See virtual consult.
Where are the Avelen studios?
Private appointment spaces — not walk-in storefronts. Midtown — 605 5th Ave, FL 4, New York, NY 10017 · Brooklyn — 2230 Church Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11226 · Astoria — 17 48th St, Studio 40, Astoria, NY 11103. You choose the location when you book.
K-Tip or sew-in — how do you decide?
After photos (and in-studio check), we match construction to density, texture, color history, and how you style day to day. Compare on K-Tip vs sew-in.
What is included in the from-$ price?
Published starting tiers: Natural from $1,000 · Double from $1,400 · Triple from $1,700 (20"). Each includes premium hair, professional installation, blending, and styling. Final amount depends on length, density, and custom color. See pricing.
Can I pay in installments (Affirm / Klarna)?
Yes. Public checkout is Stripe. You can split payments with Affirm or Klarna (subject to approval), or pay by card, Apple Pay, or Cash App Pay. Zelle is by arrangement with the studio. Square is not offered on the public booking checkout.
How should I wash and brush extensions?
Use sulfate-free cleanser, keep oils away from bonds/beads, brush gently from ends upward, and dry bonds fully. Step-by-step: wash and brush and sleep and bonds.
When is correction due?
K-Tip: typical wear is about 10–14 weeks, then removal + reinstall / correction (not a sew-in move-up). Sew-in: rows usually need a move-up about 8–12 weeks as natural hair grows. Book sooner if you notice slippage, tension, or an uneven blend.
