Soft, believable fullness for an understated change.
Choose method, density, and color from daylight photos. Hair + installation included. Private appointments in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Astoria.

This page is the New York City hub: a specialist consult for custom, natural-looking hair extensions — not a kit, not a walk-in retail floor, and not a single-method sales page. You send daylight photos. We return a method, density, length, and an honest range before you pay to hold a visit.
Avelen works as a custom extension practice across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. The goal is hair that still looks like you at the root line, in daylight, and in a bun — planned around the hair you start with, not a ranked luxury menu.
Two constructions cover most requests. K-Tip (keratin-bond) appointments in NYC are strand-by-strand: individual pieces, flexible styling, wear then professional removal + reinstall. Sew-in is row construction for elevated density when your natural hair can support it, with a move-up as hair grows.
Neither method is “better” in the abstract. Photos decide. If you already know you want keratin bonds, skip ahead to the K-Tip service page. If you want the comparison first, use K-Tip vs sew-in. This hub stays the citywide decision door.
Most clients come for one or more of: more volume at a similar length, added length that still moves, a quieter blend on fine or thinning hair, or a short-hair / correction path after a cut that went too far. We will say no, or change grams, when the natural hair cannot carry the look.
Short hair and post-cut rebuilds need honest placement — not a promise that every perimeter can take a heavy set. Fine hair is planned as density first; see the fine-hair path below. We do not make medical claims.
Color is matched to your real hair from daylight photos — roots, mid-lengths, and ends — not a one-shade box. Blonde mismatch shows first; dimensional blend is the job, not a flat kit color. Final confirmation happens in the appointment before the install is finished.
Starting packages are Natural Volume, Double, and Triple. Published from-$ quotes are for 20". Other lengths are quoted after photos. Grams are not a quiz result: we plan density from what your hair can actually support, then pick construction (K-Tip or sew-in) around that plan.

If the goal is volume without a heavy, obvious weft — especially on fine or thinning hair — start on thin-hair volume. Candidacy is a photo review plus an in-person check. We decline or change the plan when the grams required would overload the natural hair.
Visible bonds, slip, matting, or a blend that never sat quietly: send photos through Extension Rescue before we quote correction vs clean removal. Second opinion first — not an automatic reinstall.
Wedding-week hair needs a calendar: consult, install buffer, optional trial. Start on weddings with the date. We do not invent last-minute bridal availability.

This hub is the decision page. K-Tip is strand-by-strand keratin-bond placement; sew-in is row construction for elevated density when your hair supports it.
